New Video: 'One Trick Phony'

This week we received confirmation of a deadly truth: Donald Trump has been "playing down" the dangers of the coronavirus. We all suspected it. But to hear Trump's callous words on tape showed us how sick and depraved he is.

Here's the thing: Donald Trump never stopped "playing it down."

Rather than listen to experts, Trump has decided to refute the science at every turn – science that could save tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of lives.

The latest example came this week. During a disastrous town hall Tuesday night, Trump argued that not everyone agrees that masks work. His source? Waiters. Yes, you read that right. And we have no words.

In a congressional hearing the following Wednesday, Director for the Centers for Disease Control Robert Redfield passionately explained the importance of encouraging mask wearing to save lives. He also said that a vaccine would not be likely until the second or third quarter of 2021.

Rather than show leadership, Trump instead used his platform during a Wednesday press briefing to refute the Director. "He just made a mistake," the president said.

Trump's behavior is absolutely despicable. He has proven time and time again that he is unfit to lead. The only thing he knows how to do is lie and spread dangerous misinformation. That's why we call him a #OneTrickPhony.

After all, who are we to trust: a scientific expert, or a guy who stared into an eclipse?
